The Reverend Richard Coles has retired from his Parish in Finedon Northamptonshire after eleven years. On Sunday 24th April he took his last service where a large congregation turned out to say goodbye. He was formally a member of the eighties pop group the Communards who had a No.1 hit with Don't Leave Me This Way.
We wish him all the best in his retirement, he will be a hard act to follow.
A peal was specially arranged and rung after his last service and a new method was rung and named Don't Leave Me This Way Delight Major. This also happened, by coincidence, to be the 150th recorded peal in the tower.
