Is it good luck to be an officer?  The results of this month’s 100 Club draw might suggest that it is.  The three winners were Alistair Donaldson (Guild President), Jenny Ball (Wellingborough Branch Secretary) and Chris Pearson (Kettering Branch Ringing Master).  But in fact, the draw is completely random!

The August draw took place at the first Guild Stedman Practice, held at Irthlingborough – scheduled as a follow-up to the training course in March.  There was a good turn out with seven “learners” specifically having a go at plain courses of doubles and triples or a touch of triples, supported by another thirteen ringers.

The afternoon training course held at Café Doris at Spratton Church was in the form of a discussion workshop entitled “Running a Good Practice”.  The outcome was non-prescriptive but gave a plethora of ideas to make attending and running practices a really positive experience.
