For the 100th Anniversary celebrations for the PDG we have aimed to arrange events that would appeal to all – ringers and non-ringers, old and young, experienced ringers and novices.
The Rutland Water Tour and Picnic on Saturday 10th August did just that. It also combined ringing and social activities as well as being both indoor and outdoor.
We visited five different of the Rutland Branch towers in the afternoon, then congregated at one of the visitor sites on the banks of Rutland Water. With 46 ringers, along with non-ringing family members and friends and several dogs, it had quite the party feel about it, especially as there was cake!
