At the start of the year, we suggested that a number of ringing targets were set up for 2024 to mark the Guild’s 100th anniversary.

It looks like one milestone has just been met – 100 quarter peals rung – well done to all those involved, especially the organisers.

Another target was to get 100 “firsts”.  At the Guild AGM a shout-out board was on display showing 41 people who had successfully reached some ringing milestone.  These ranged from “First Sunday Service Ringing” to “First Peal of Horton’s 4-spliced” showing that ringing is a journey and you are never beyond trying something new.  A few lucky individuals are at the stage of their journey where they have already notched up quite a few “firsts” this year.

If you think your name/achievement may have missed off it is probably because the details of the ringing had not been posted on BellBoard, but this can be added retrospectively.  Alternatively, there are still six months to go out and ring something special.
