We regret to report that Ted Loveday from Great Addington has died. He had been tower captain there since 1968.

Thomas Edward Loveday [Ted] was born in Islip in June 1938 and died in Great Addington in June 2021. He moved to Great Addington in 1968 and immediately became invoved in village life as Tower Captain, Church Warden, Vice-Chair of the PCC, and School Governor. He was also an active member of Thrapston and Raunds Rotary Club. Ted's family had been farmers in and around Islip and his Uncle had a horse-collar factory in Islip. Ted travelled widely in his work with the leather and shoe trade. Ted rang his one and only peal at great Addington in December 1983. The peal is notable in that it was the first peal for three of the band [including Ted] and all six ringers were residents of Great Addington.

He passed away on 11th June, aged 82 years.

His funeral was at Great Addington on 1st July
