This is the first peal on the bells since being rehung by Messrs Gillett & Johnston, the "go" and tone of the bells being excellent.
Ringstead was the birthplace of the Conductor, and it has been his desire for some time to ring in a peal on the bells of his native place.

(Additional Notes from the ringing records of Charles W Clarke:- This was the first 5040 in seven different Treble Bob Methods on these bells, and was rung at the first attempt, and the first of the kind ever rang in Northamptonshire.
